Al Qaeda Front Group Claims Baghdad Blasts
Dec. 27, 2011 - Immediately after the withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq a deadly wave of bombings has terrorized Baghdad.
- An Al Qaeda front group in Iraq has claimed responsibility for the wave of attacks that ripped through markets, cafes and government
buildings in Baghdad on a single day last week, killing 69 people and raising new worries about the country's path.
The terrorists took credit on the Internet. The issue is is the sectarian struggle between Shite and Sunni Muslims that caused their
civil war years ago. The attackers are unhappy with the country's Shiite-dominated leadership that has been allowed to come to power
as a result of the U.S.-led invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein in 2003.

Prophetic Significance of America's War
At least 69 die in bombings in Iraq; more violence feared with U.S. troops gone
Dec. 23, 2011 - At least 69 people were killed and some 200 were injured in a wave of bombings in Baghdad.
- The attacks appeared to be a well-coordinated assault by Sunni militants linked to al-Qaida, and they targeted markets, grocery stores, cafés
and government buildings in a dozen neighborhoods.
It also appears that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who is a Shi'ite may be trying to eliminate the influence of rival Sunnis in the government.

Iraq in political turmoil hours after last US troops depart
Dec. 20, 2011 -
- The completion of the US withdrawal on Sunday ended nearly nine years of war, but left many Iraqis fearful that a shaky peace between
majority Shi'ites and Sunnis might collapse and reignite sectarian violence.
As soon as U.S. troops departed from Iraq, serious political fighting has begun, starting with distrust
between the country's top leaders. Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, who is a Shi'ite, asked parliament for a no-confidence vote against
Saleh al-Mutlaq, a Sunni who is deputy prime minister, on the grounds that he lacked faith in the political process.
Meanwhile a 5-judge panel has banned Sunni Vice-President Tareq al-Hashemi from leaving the country while they investigate charges
that he is a terrorist.

Panetta Formally Ends U.S. Military Mission in Iraq
Dec. 15, 2011 - Defense Secretary Leon Paneta led a simple ceremony at the Baghdad airport to officially end the Iraq war.
- The ceremony in Baghdad marked the completion of nearly nine years of war. Nearly 4,500 U.S. lives were lost. More than 30,000 U.S.
troops were wounded. The death toll for Iraqis reached 100,000.
The U.S. spent nearly one trillion dollars on the fighting and rebuilding of the nation. At the high point, 170,000 U.S. troops were there at one
time at some 500 bases. The last two bases will soon close and the final 4,000 troops will leave.

Afghan officials: Fire from Pakistan led to attack
Nov. 27, 2011 - Anonymous Afghan officials challenged the view that NATO's attack on the Pakistan/ Afghanistan
border was unprovoked.
- Afghan troops and coalition forces came under fire from the direction of two Pakistan army border posts,
prompting them to call in NATO airstrikes that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers, Afghan officials said Sunday.
If the report is true, insurgents near the border crossing started the conflict by firing on NATO forces. It is known
that Pakistani soldiers allow the insurgents to stay in the area.

Pakistan Tells U.S. to 'Vacate' Air Base as Border Strike Inflames Tensions
Nov. 27, 2011 - NATO forces accidentally struck a military checkpoint at a crossing point between Pakistan
and Afghanistan, killing 24 Pakistani soldiers. The immediate response by angry Pakistani leadership was to close
both roads into Afghanistan, cutting off NATO supply lines and leaving convoys of supplies stranded inside Pakistan.
They also ordered the U.S. to "vacate" an air base used for suspected drone attacks.
- The government issued the air base demand, and pledged a "complete review" of its
relationship with the U.S. and NATO, following an emergency military meeting chaired by Pakistani Prime Minister
Yousuf Raza Gilani.

Soldiers, Pundits Debate Whether Iraq War Was Worth It
Oct. 26, 2011 - Last Friday President Obama announced that all U.S. troops will be pulled out of Iraq
before the end of the year.
Unfortunately the decision was forced by Iraq's Shi'a Muslim leader Muqtada al-Sadr's warning that the U.S.
soldiers must leave or face “resistance.” Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki asked for withdrawal of the
approximately 41,000 troops by New Year’s Day, 2012. Observers will be wondering...
- ...whether the invasion of Iraq and ensuing conflict were worth their $800 billion price tag, the loss
of more than 4,400 U.S. troops and the deaths of as many as 112,000 Iraqis.

U.S.-Born Terror Boss Anwar al-Awlaki Killed
- Sept. 30, 2011 - American-born senior Al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki was killed this morning in Yemen. His
convoy was attacked by an air strike that was presumably conducted by America.
- The strike hit a vehicle with three or four suspected Al Qaeda members inside, in addition to al-Awlaki. The strike
comes after a heavy presence of U.S. drones was spotted in the skies over the region.

Feds: Zawahiri Launched Al Qaeda Terror Plot for 9/11 Anniversary
- Sept. 8, 2011 - Officials in New York and Washington DC are on alert for a possible vehicle-borne attack
sometime this weekend. It is known that Osama bin Laden's notes had proposed new terrorism on the anniversary of
the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Some "specific and credible" information has been developed by the CIA indicating that at least three
individuals entered the U.S. in August by air with the intent to launch such an attack.
- Officials say the alleged terror plot was initiated by new al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin
Laden's successor, who had pledged to avenge bin Laden's death earlier this year in a U.S. raid.
Officials told ABC News that at least one of the individuals is a U.S. citizen.
A 10th anniversary memorial is scheduled for Sunday on the site of the World Trade Center. President Obama and
former President George W Bush are scheduled to attend the ceremony.

Looking Back...
Prophecy Central in the September 11 Archives!
- Sept. 9, 2011 -
Prophecy Central had already been on the Internet for nearly four years when the September 11 attacks took place.
We were among the first to report the story as it gradually unfolded on that terrible day.
We didn’t know it at the time, but soon after the attacks, our site was being tracked and archived by a massive
project that would eventually be released as the September 11 Digital Archive.
This historical collection is available online, and is physically housed in the Library of Congress.
We recommend that you browse this incredible project, the largest of its kind in the world, and be sure to check
out Prophecy Central’s contributions. In their abstract of our
site, they wrote:
- Prophecy Central, a Web Site produced by Ron Graff, is part of the Library of Congress September 11 Web
Archive and preserves the web expressions of individuals, groups, the press and institutions in the United
States and from around the world in the aftermath of the attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001.
You may also read the actual posts directly from the Prophecy Central site, starting with the
very day that
the drama began. We have kept all our news summaries online ever since 9/11/11. You can trace the mood of the
country, the eventual war in Afghanistan, and even Osama bin Laden’s death recently. Of course, many of the links
to external sources on these old pages no longer work, but we have kept our brief summaries of the news stories
so you can still see what was happening.

Al Qaeda Confirms Bin Laden's Death on Islamist Websites
May 6, 2011 - An announcement appeared on Islamic websites where Al-Qaeda normally puts its messages that
bin Laden was indeed killed. It also warned of retaliation.
- "We stress that the blood of the holy warrior sheik, Usama bin Laden, God bless him, is precious to us and to
all Muslims and will no go in vain."

Terror Expert Scheuer: Jihad Revenge is Certain
May 3, 2011 - According to author and former CIA bin Laden-expert Michael Scheuer, Al-Qaeda is bigger and
stronger than it was on 9/11, and it will undoubtedly retaliate for Bin Laden's death.
- Scheuer predicted that bin Laden will have “an enduring resonance among Muslims for hundreds of years,”
because he hurt the United States and survived for a decade afterward.
He also warned that talk about democratic revolutions in the Middle East is wishful thinking because the
Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups, including Al-Qaeda, are moving to exploit the turmoil in Egypt, Libya,
Syria and other countries.

Pakistan admits Bin Laden intelligence failure
May 3, 2011 - On official of Pakistan's main intelligence agency, the ISI, said that Pakistan is
embarrassed by its failure to know that Osama Bin Laden was living in the Abbottabad compound. He said that
the property was raided in 2003 thinking that an al-Qaeda operative, Abu Faraj al-Libi, was there, but after
that time the compound "was not on our radar."
- He added: "This one failure should not make us look totally incompetent. Look at our track record. For the
last 10 years, we have captured Taliban and al-Qaeda in their hundreds."

King Draws Fire for Hearings on Radicalization of Muslims in U.S., But Most Americans Support Discussion
Mar. 10, 2011 - Rep. Peter King opened hearings on Islamic radicalization this morning, encouraging the
committee not to live in denial about the problem. The hearings have drawn fire from religious and civil rights groups.
- The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee said the hearing "must go forward, and they will."
He said backing down would amount to a "craven surrender to political correctness."
A new Gallup poll shows a majority of Americans (52%)support King's plans.
Zuhdi Jasser, president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, was the first witness at Thursday's hearing. He
agreed with King that the majority of Muslims want to fix the problem. He said we need to discover why the situation
is getting worse lately. He said some misguided imams are conditioning Muslims to distrust the U.S. government.
