Supreme Court: Texas Can't Keep Women from Abortion Clinics

The Supreme Court sided with abortion providers in a landmark case today, striking down Texas’ stricter requirements for clinics and setting a potential precedent against similar regulations in other states.

The statute that was overturned is Texas law HB-2, which prohibited late-term abortions. It is one of a record number of recent pro-life laws enacted various states. Those laws will also be impacted by the court's 5-3 decision. The dissenting justices were Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Chief Justice John Roberts.
