supports the conclusion that He was Lord.

July 17, 2017 - Accordling to Elvio Carlino, a researcher at the Institute of Crystallography, blood samples from the
world-famous Shroud of Turn, support the theory that Jesus Christ suffered a violent death.
The particles showed high levels of substances called creatinine and ferritin, which are found in patients who have suffered multiple traumas like torture.
Mar. 30, 2017 - During this Easter season, one of the best-known philosopher, William Lane Craig, explains the evidence that
Jesus really was resurrected after His crucifixion. Craig says:
We may be surprised to learn that the majority of New Testament critics investigating the gospels in this way accept the central

Feb. 7, 2015 - An epic new movie, "Risen," tells the story of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection as seen through the eyes of a disbelieving Roman soldier.

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place whileQuirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.
While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
"God came to this world to die an agonizing death to ransom us from an eternal death sentence," he said... The real Christmas tree was a cross that Christ hung on...
He died for the sins of all of the world.
Apr. 5, 2015 - The Old Testament predicted that Messiah would be a "suffering servant," dying as an atonement for our sins (Psalm 22,
Isaiah 53, Daniel 9:26), before He would bcome the "righteous ruler" of Israel and the world.
Joel Rosenberg summarizes the theory proposed by Dr. Israel Knohl, a respected professor and Dead Sea Scrolls expert at Hebrew University, that, after
his death, Messiah would be resurrected in three days.
In the year 2009 Dr. Knohl wrote a book, Messiahs and Resurrection in “The Gabriel Revelation", in which he introduced new information,
based on the discovery in 200--near the caves of the Dead Sea Scrolls, of a three-foot engraved stone tablet.
The tablet has been named by scholars as “Gabriel’s Revelation” because it suggests that the angel Gabriel was instructed by God to direct
that the Messiah be raised from the dead on the third day.

Editor's note: Of course, Jesus predicted His own resurrection in three days (John 2:18-22; Matthew 12:39-40; 16:21; John 10:17-18;

Dec. 24, 2014 - When Sir Issac Watts, the master hymn-writer composed "Joy to the World," he meant it primarily to focus
on our belief in the Return of Christ as King of Kings.
The original theme of this song was the second coming of the Lord. Christmas won’t always be a joyful time, but when Jesus comes back, even the rocks will sing!

Dec. 7, 2014 - The city of Ontario, California has just restored the 12 Nativity scenes on Euclid Avenue.
The display has drawn visitors for more than half a century. A nonprofit "Christmas on Euclid Experience" has been
established with a goal of carrying on the tradition in perpetuity.
Dec. 4, 2014 - In Decision Magazine Franklin Graham says that our current American society is waging a war on Christmas because of hatred of
Christianity.
"The war on Christmas is a war against Christ and His followers. It's the hatred of our culture for the exclusive claims that Christ made."
He cited examples of prejudice against Christmas by stores, schools and communities.
Meanwhile the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) sent memos to 13,000 school district administrators reminding them that freedom of Christmas
expression is constitutional.
Dec. 25, 2013 - In a Christmas message Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas claimed that Jesus was a Palestinian.
“He should have read the Gospel before uttering such offensive nonsense, but we will forgive him because he doesn’t know what he’s doing,” [Israeli] Foreign Ministry
spokesman Yigal Palmor told The Times of Israel on Monday.
Palmor also said that Abbas' statement is an “outrageous rewriting of Christian history.”
Dec. 20, 2013 - Nazareth is an important tourist town for Christians, but about 70% of the population there is Muslim and the number is
growing. Bishara Shlayan, a Christian merchant seaman who lives in Nazareth, is planning to build a 100' high statue of Jesus similar to the "Christ the Redeemer"
statue over Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, but it will be even larger. Israel's Minister of Tourism has given his blessing to the project.
Dec. 10, 2013 - Two computer scientists, Steven Skiena and Charles Ward, used quantitative analysis from Wikipedia to determine the top 10
most significant people in history. Jesus ranked first.
“We would call Jesus ‘the most significant person ever,” said Mr. Skiena, in Pacific Standard. “With over 2 billion followers a full 2,000 years after
his death, Jesus is an incredibly successful historical name.”
Next in line was Napoleon Bonaparte,William Shakespeare, Mohammed, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Adolf Hitler, Aristotle, Alexander the Great and
Thomas Jefferson.
Mar. 13, 2013 - A new book about the Shroud of Turin gives scientific evidence that the remarkable cloth dates back to the
time of Christ, and that the imprint of the face and body were caused by a blast of “exceptional radiation.”
The results of the tests are documented in the book “Il Mistero della Sindone” or The Mystery of the Shroud, written by Giulio Fanti, a professor
of mechanical and thermal measurement at Italy’s Padua University, and Saverio Gaeta, a journalist.
Dec. 13, 2012 - Newsweek goes out of print at the end of the year, but true to form, it devotes one of its last editions to
a non-Biblical view of Jesus.
Timed for this Christmas, Newsweek just released a cover essay by Bart D. Ehrman, who is well-known for his belief that the New Testament
is largely historical fiction. “Who is Jesus?” is the question on the cover. “The Myths of Jesus” is the headline on the essay itself.
A historian from Harvard Divinity School revealed on Tuesday what she claims to be a fourth century fragment of papyrus
containing the phrase (in Coptic) "Jesus said to them, 'My wife ... '"
Professor Karen King has studied a very small fragment of papyrus from the Fourth Century, and says that Jesus supposedly referred
to his wife. She said that it does not prove that He had a wife, and if He did, there is no evidence that he married Mary Magdalene.
According to Darrell L. Bock, senior research professor of New Testament Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, there was no doubt among
earlier Christian writers that Jesus was single. The papyrus comes from a fringe gnostic group hundreds of years after Christ. And even
if it were true that Jesus has said, "My wife...," it could "well be metaphorical" – a representation of Jesus being married to the church.
Apr. 5, 2012 - The Bible and history give us “many infallible proofs” that the resurrection of Jesus really happened. We also
have magnificent scientific evidence in the "Shroud of Turin." Scientific tests and criticism of the scientific methods used have resulted in
some ups and downs about its credibility. A new book by Dr. Alan Wanger and his wife Mary, The Shroud of Turin: An Adventure of Discovery
makes the case that the shroud is genuine. Dr. Wanger is a retired professor from Duke Medical Center. He has spent his life studying medicine.
and has also intensely studied the Shroud of Turin since the late 1970's. He says,
“The Shroud is the most intensely studied single object in existence. There are probably 67 different fields of scientific
and academic interests that have looked into the Shroud in one way in another."
Here are a few of the pieces of evidence cited by the book:
It is an accurate representation of human anatomy including details not known until the 20th Century.
The image is a "photographic negative."
The image was not painted, but lightly "burned on" by radiation, perhaps at the moment of the resurrection.
The blood was human blood, and was not disturbed by removal from the body.
Dec. 24, 2011 - Bethlehem is expected to have more than 50,000 visitors from around the world to celebrate the birth of Christ. The
number of hotels in the town has increased during the last three years, but they are all full today.
Christmas Eve celebrations are all taking place in and around Manger Square, the central plaza next to the Church of the Nativity.
The church is built over the site where Christians believe Mary gave birth to Jesus in a stable.
Christmas the biggest tourist attraction of the year in the Palestinian territories.
Dec. 21, 2011 - New experiments on the Shroud of Turin show that is most likely the authentic cloth that wrapped the body of Christ.
There have been decades of research and varying opinions about the shroud.
However, researchers from Italy's National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development believe their
findings undermine previous theories that the shroud was faked in the medieval period.
Studies conducted in the 1980s reported that the image was "forged" on the cloth between 1260 and 1390. However, scientists now think that
the earlier research used material from a patch likely used to to repair the cloth after a fire.
The basic conclusion of the recent study is that the technology that would have been needed to produce the shroud only partially exists today,
and certainly would not have been available in the medieval period.
April 12, 2011 - In a burial cave discovered in 1990, while building a road on the outskirts of Jerusalem,
two ossuaries (stone vessels in which the bones of the dead were placed) were found - one inscribed with the name
"Caiaphas" (Hebrew "Kayafa"), and the other with the name "Joseph son of Caiaphas."
Journalist Simcha Jacobovici says that two bent nails were also found there that could have been the nails used
at the crucifixion of Jesus. He claims that the archaeologists who found the relics ignored the importance of the
nails. On the other hand, archaeologists express doubt about Jacobovici's theories.
April 2, 2010 - The History Channel has aired a two-hour documentary called, "The Real Face of Jesus?" in which a new 3D imaging technology
has used the Shroud of Turin to recreate the shape of the face on the cloth. Ray Downing is the creator of the 3D computer technology that was
used for the documentary. He said,
"Viewed through the lens of science, the Shroud of Turin contains a code that when deciphered provides actual, physical evidence that the
resurrection of Jesus Christ was an actual, historical event."
April 1, 2010 There are two sites in Jerusalem commemorating the burial of Christ: The Church of the Holy Sepluchre and the Garden Tomb. The Garden Tomb seems more authentic, but in either case, the tomb is empty!
Jan. 27, 2010 - A big screen movie about the resurrection of Jesus will be produced this year and released near Easter in 2011. Filmmaker Billy McKay said, that the film will remain faithful to biblical and historical records.
Dec. 21, 2009 - For the first time ever, Israeli archaeologists have uncovered the ruins of a dwelling in Nazareth that existed at the time of Jesus.
The find sheds a new light on what Nazareth might have been like in Jesus' time, said the archaeologists, indicating that it was probably a small hamlet with about 50 houses populated by poor Jews.
Archaeologist Yardenna Alexandre of the Israel Antiquities Authority said, "It was likely Jesus and his childhood friends would have known the house."
