Elie re-located to Jerusalem as Technical Administrator of the City of David project, was a site supervisor for Archaeological Seminars. Inc. and eventually became the site supervisor for the Department of Antiquities, State of Israel.
Elie finished his 2 year training as a licensed Israel guide in 1984. His training focused on biblical Israel, history, geomorphology, wildlife and ecology. He also included the special training that is required for guides who work with Regionaltour.
He is a family man with experience as a medic with the Israel Defense Forces. He was a bluegrass musician while in the U.S.
For one year he studied stone techniques and skills with Palestinian-Arab stone cutters.
His easy-going temperament, congenial warmth and relaxed guiding style places Elie in demand with group leaders who have traveled with him before.
With a background of many years of independent studies, she was 34 years of age when she took her degree in Political Philosophy and Sociology from Ruskin College at Oxford University. Her continued studies and cross-cultural adventures included:
Having come from a two-religion/ three-language family, she is sensitive to presenting Jerusalem as an extention of her childhood realities. Her love of climbing, walking, experiencing and trying to understand how people got from there to here, makes her a special addition to the Regionaltour concepts and methods.
Her willingness to help American group leaders form the kind of tour ministry they wish prompts "repeat requests" from tour leaders who are returning.
