Do you think a Christian University should hire professors with same-sex partners? Would you send your children to a school that is more concerned about being politically correct than it is about being biblically correct?
Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, is considering hiring instructors who are in “covenanted” same-sex relationships. They are conducting a six-month “listening process” that began in January; and the school is soliciting input from the general public.
We are all sinners. Homosexuality is not worse than other sins. However it is not the loving thing to do to condone anyone’s sin, or to agree with those who say homosexuality is not a sin. See our discussion of Homosexuality and the Bible for a review of what the Bible actually says about same-sex relationships and the importance of loving people enough to help them find God’s will for their lives. If we really love these people, we must encourage them to accept the Bible’s teaching and gain a measure of spiritual victory like the rest of us who struggle with our own sinful natures.
