Homosexuality

There is a vital connection between the prophecied apostasy ("falling away") of the end times and the rise of homosexuality, which is one of the chief symptoms of a society which has departed from the teaching of God's Word.
It is our desire to show love and compassion while being honest about what the Bible says regarding this topic.

A U.N. 'gay' threat to 1st Amendment?
June 28, 2001 - If they get their way in the U.N., a powerful lobby will dictate wording for a resolution that will prohibit the media from publishing "discriminatory" content. Critics are calling this an outright attack on our First Ammendment right of Freedom of the Press. The organization that is calling for the restriction is the International Gay and Lesbian Association. Their provisions would prohibit media from broadcasting "content discriminatory to homosexuals."

It's Later Than You Think...
How Much Longer Will You Have The Right To Tell The Truth About Homosexuality?
I received an Email message from a Christian in Canada this week, saying that he is opposed to homosexuality on Biblical grounds, but that he is afraid to speak out against it now that Canada has adopted special protections for homosexuality. The following summaries of articles, all from current news, illustrates how serious this problem is, not only for Canadians, but also for us in the United States. We have stood by and watched the advance of the homosexual agenda without adequately protesting the errosion of Biblical principles. All the talk about hate crimes is very intimidating to Christians because we believe in love above all else. God Himself is love, and we are commanded to love others as He loves. However, God has spoken with crystal clarity about the sinfulness of homosexual behavior. As every good parent knows, real love requires taking a stand against what is wrong.
5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."
7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?
8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons.
9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!
10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness.
11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Hebrews 12:5-11 (NIV)
Action: Pray for wisdom, love and courage. Maybe you have been placed where you are "for such a time as this." Esther 4:14.
Action: Take the time to read the next few summaries and get involved by picking at least one action item. If you won't, who will? Once it is illegal to express your beliefs, you will wish you had summoned the courage to do something while there was still time.
Action: Ask your pastor and other church leaders to stand for the truth. Too many have chosen not to get involved in controversial issues such as abortion and homosexuality. This is exactly what the church did in Germany during Hitler's rise. The only Christian heros of that era were the rare Christians and pastors who did something about the evils of their day. Don't support a church that is ashamed of God's own views. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. - Isaiah 5:20

Homosexual agenda promoted by NEA?
Controversial recommendations (Resolutions B-7, B-9 and C-27) might be adopted by the National Education Association at their annual convention in Los Angeles in July that would provide for:
a. Development of curriculum and instructional materials and programs designed to meet the needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students
b. Involvement of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender educators in developing educational materials used in classroom instruction
c. Dissemination of programs that support gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning students and address the high drop-out rate, suicide rate, and health risk behaviors
d. Recognition of the importance of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender education employees as role models
e. Accurate portrayal of the roles and contributions of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people throughout history
f. Dissemination of programs and information that include the contributions, heritage, culture, and history of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people
g. Coordination with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender organizations and concerned agencies that promote the contributions, heritage, culture, history, health and care of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender people.

Action: Ask teachers you know whether they agree with these things. If they do, let that be a wake-up call in itself. They have been conditioned this way for many years now. If they do not agree, ask them to contact their state organization of the NEA and express their feelings. Ask their representatives to vote against this wording.

New Hate Crime Report Exposes Homosexual Special Rights Agenda
According to Andrea Lafferty, Executive Director of Traditional Values Coalition, Senate Bill S.1, the education bill that is currently being debated in the U.S. Senate, will continue the funding of hate crime/anti-Christian bigotry curricula for public schools. It will also encourage officials to continue targeting children who are critical of homosexual behavior.

Apr. 25, 2001 - Florida Congressman Rep. Allen Trovillion was accused of bigotry in his state's press because of candid remarks he made in a meeting with teen homosexual activists. More Americans Having Gay Sex, Study Shows
Mar. 14, 2001 - A new study published by the Journal of Sex Research indicates that homosexual activity is on the rise in the United States. The percentage of US women who say they recently had homosexual sex has increased 15-fold from 1988 to 1998, and the rate for American men doubled during the same period.
The study did not explore the reasons, but it is likely that the positive media image of TV shows like ``Ellen'' and ``Will and Grace'' may be partly responsible.
In her study, Amy C. Butler of the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, examined 1988-1998 data from the General Social Survey, a poll of adult Americans over the age of 18 conducted every two years by the National Opinion Research Center.
According to the survey, the number of men who said they had recently had gay sex rose from 2% in 1988 to 4% in 1998, while rates among women climbed from 0.2% in 1988 to nearly 3% ten years later.
Source: Yahoo/ Reuters - Journal of Sex Research 2001;37:333-343
Notice that, even with these dramatic increases, the percentage of Americans involved in this behavior averages out to less than 4% -- far less than the 10% or more that is so often claimed!

Hate-crimes law advancing in Congress
Sept. 14, 2000 - A hate-crimes amendment was endorsed by a resolution in the House of Representatives yesterday. If it becomes law it will extend special protection to include actual or perceived gender, sexual orientation or disability.
Opponents of the measure point out that they certainly do not approve of violence against anyone else, but there are existing laws that cover all such violence. The real problem is that the law would open a further door in the near future, which would likely result in prosecution of pastors and commentators who teach that homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible.
Peter LaBarbera, senior analyst at Family Research Council says,
"Gay activists will start charging people with intimidation," he said. "That could actually put somebody in court for what they believe." "It's just a short distance to travel from prosecuting alleged hate crimes to prosecuting hate speech, especially when you have gay activists saying by merely voicing our beliefs or fighting for our beliefs that homosexuality is wrong, that we are directly creating a so-called climate of hate in which people like Matthew Shepard are killed," LaBarbera continued. "So they're already linking our beliefs to these horrendous crimes, and so we think that someday, they will use these laws to try to criminalize our speech on the homosexual issue."

Aug. 1, 2000 - Rep. Jim Kolbe,, an openly homosexual congressman from Arizona was granted a short appearance during prime time at the Republican National Convention.
The party's platform includes affirmation of the Defense of Marriage Act, and opposition to legislation granting special rights due to sexual preference.
The A Texas Republican Platform has taken a strong stance against homosexuality, stating:
The Party believes that the practice of sodomy, which is illegal in Texas, tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit, and leads to the spread of dangerous, communicable diseases. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths that have been ordained by God, recognized by our country’s founders, and shared by the majority of Texans. Accordingly, homosexuality should not be presented as an acceptable "alternative" lifestyle in our public education and policy. We are opposed to any granting of special legal entitlements, recognition, or privileges including, but not limited to, marriage between persons of the same sex, custody or adoption of children, spousal (partner) insurance or retirement benefits.

Special rights for homosexuals
June 13, 2000 - Joseph Farah contends that the homosexual activists are not satisfied with equal rights, but insist on special rights. The decision last week by the Big 3 automakers to extend health-care benefits to partners of homosexual employees, but not to unmarried partners of heterosexual employees, is the latest in this destructive trend.
Farah wonders if the American automakers realize that they are offending a high percentage of Americans while catering to the activism of a vocal 1%. Here is one example:
And then this one from Anne: "I am a straight female. If my female friend and I decide to share an apartment and living expenses, can we qualify for 'domestic partner' benefits? If not -- why not? If two lesbian women can qualify for the insurance and other benefits, why should my friend and I be discriminated against because we don't have sex together? Some husbands and wives have sexless marriages but still qualify for benefits. I really want to know how they can legally exclude my friend and I."
